Audio Systems: 97 Chevy CD stuck, factory wiring harness, chevy truck

Question
Jerry,
I'm the original owner of a 97 Chevy truck.  The factory radio/cassette with single remote cd was working perfect until lately.  A cd that was not being played was left in the player for several days while using the radio.  Then I noticed that the display no longer recognized that the cd was in the player.  Now it will not play or even eject the cd.  It currently gives no indication that there is a cd in the player or any error and all other functions are working well.  Your help is greatly appreciated.

Answer
You did well to get 9 years out of it.
Sadly, it is time for a new one. But the price should not tear you up too badly. Try Circuit City for a deck ($80-125.00), a factory wiring harness adaptor kit and an install kit ($20.00 for both).
Find a pal that is handy with tools and 12 volts to attempt getting your cd back out of that unit.
