My wife just backed our car into my son's car. My car had no damage. Is it home owners insurance or auto? My liability or my son's collision?

Hi John,

Your home insurance has nothing to do with this situation at all.

If you and your son are insured on seperate policies, then your liability will pay to repair his car. If you are both insured on the same policy then it would be a collision claim and the collision deductible would apply. The reason for the difference is if both cars are on the same policy thay are both considered to be your cars. You can not be liable to yourself so your liability coverage would not pay.
