Audio Systems: Auto radio FM, toyota camry, simple tests

Question
I have a 1993 Toyota Camry with an AM/FM/Tape/CD player. Just recently the FM stopped working = no sound on any station; the AM/Tape/CD work fine. If you turn up the volume on FM you just get background static. What happened here?  Will the radio have to be repaired or do I take out and have the under the seat amplifier repaired? Or is it curtains?

 since the AM is still functional i would take to guess somewhere within the unit is your problem.. the best bet is to stop by a good local shop and let them run a few simple tests to see where your problem lies.... hope this helps you out
