Audio Systems: car audio, ford escort gt, wire colors

Question
I recently bought a 92 ford escort gt but the radio has been ripped out so i dont know which wires are which, do you know the colors for the wireing or a web site with free diagrams?

Answer
No I do not.
But you may as well wire it from the ground up since it was ripped out.

That is find/use and/or create fused sources for constant and switched 12vdc.
Run your own ground to a chassis bolt near the head unit.
IF the speaker wires are intact, you can see which colors are what channels by looking at wire colors at the speakers.
I would suggest replacing the speaker wire if it is that old.

Determining which is positive/negative is a non-issue at this point, since you can easily 'pop' test them with a 9vdc battery after they are ready to hook to the deck (this procedure is done from up front and you only attach the battery to the speaker wires for a very short moment...  hence the term 'pop test the speakers').
If the speakers 'pop' towards the INterior of the vehicle (or out of their frames, away from the magnet), the positive speaker wire IS the one hooked to the positive side of the 9v battery.

If the speakers 'pop' towards the EXterior of the vehicle (or into their frames, towards the magnet), the positive speaker wire IS the one hooked to the NEGATIVE side of the 9v battery.

Sincerely,
