Audio Systems: should i get my 1976 stereo fixed?, panasonic stereo, pause buttons

Question
my panasonic stereo doesnt have any power as of now. it could be the plug. it has a receiver, turntable, and cassete. the cassette player is no good and i shouldnt get that fixed. back then they didnt have pause buttons. the tone arm doesnt move all the way. one of the speakers jacks has a loose connection that has to be fiddled with. also the treble button gets real sharp some time because the button is faulty. should i get this fixed or get rid of it. the reason i am writing you is that it would be a pain to get it down to cove electronics to get an evaluation.

Answer
i really wouldn't bother with it unless jiggling the connector around makes it work. then i would suggest taking the power cord to radio shack and matching it up with a new one. after a while, the contacts in the end of the cord open up, making the connection bad. if that doesn't fix it, i'd get rid of it in a heart beat. fixing it at a shop would run around $100 here in s.e. va.
