Audio Systems: rear car stereo speakers wont work, 2000 chevy malibu, car stereo speakers

Hi, I have a 2000 Chevy Malibu with a factory Delco Electronics AM/FM Cd player stereo. Recently the rear speakers stopped working and every once in a while the left rear speaker will start working but then stops. I have checked the wiring connections to the speakers and they are connected. I do not hear any
crackling noise or any low fuzzy sound so I know they are not blown. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Dennis

Its possible that the vehicle has a factory installed amp that is failing, or the stereo may have faulty solder connections inside of it. The stereo itself could also have defective connections in the audio output section.
