Audio Systems: Subs for a Nissan pick-up, pawn shop, enclosure design

Question
I have a 1997 Nissan (Hardbody?) pick-up. I've been searching everywhere trying to find subs that will fit in the cramped space behind the seat(If you've seen one you know what I mean!).I already have the seat up as far as I can get it and still be somewhat comfortable, I've even cut out the latch bar that runs behind the length of the seat to give me more room.I currently have two Audiobahn DVC 8's in some small prefab boxes that I found cheap at a pawn shop, but the speakers have seen better days and  don't sound very good at lower frequencies.I'd like to find a 10 inch low profile, or thin, sub that will fit. I enjoy woodworking and have built boxes for other vehicles. I understand the basics of enclosure design so I think I can build the enclosure. All I need to do is find the Darn speaker!!!

There are MANY out there that will work in small boxes.


Go listen to a few at the store and choose the one that suits your listening tastes and pocketbook the best.

Giving the vast choices available, the real question may end up being, Can I do this with an 8"....
