is acting wierd at first it played perfictly then the slider started to not stay in, it would come out when i turned it on, then stay out, and when i hit the close butten it would go in and then come out agian and agian. this happend for about four days then it started to stay in and act like it was going to play but the cd dirve does not run. whats wrong please help i just bought it?

Answer
Dear Clay,

By "slider" I think you mean the "tray" that you put the CD on before you push the "Close" or "Play" buttons on the player, right? Occasionally, you'll find CD players with trays that behave like that. There's something wrong with its programming, something you can't fix. Since you bought it new, take it back and exchange it.

BTW, I've never heard of the "Scott" brand. Can't find it in all my audio resources, and a Google search turns up nothing. One of the problems with buying "off" brands is that problems like the one you're having are more common than not.

Finally, I don't even recommend stand-alone CD players any more (if your Scott is a stand-alone unit and not a combo box "mini" system). Get a DVD player. They can all play CDs and loads of other formats (MP3 for instance) the most CD players cannot, and the electronics are better. Just a thought.

Good luck. And thanks for choosing allexperts.com!

Kindest regards,

Kevin
