Audio Systems: Error E 20, pontiac grand prix, spindle motor

Pontiac Grand Prix. Standard factory radio system. When I insert the cd the radio shifts to cd but the cd is rejected and goes back to radio.

Jim,
The problem with the CD player may be that the lens in the laser pick up is very dirty/dusty. You may want to have a repair shop remove the stereo and have them do a manual cleaning of the lens. A cleaning CD won't work since the laser has to first see that a disc is in the play position before the spindle motor will turn to clean the lens. If a cleaning does not help the laser assembly may be weak or defective.
