Audio Systems: Bose Car Stereo 1998 Nissan Maxima, nissan maxima, cost effective solution

My Bose CD player is not working--it is displaying "Err". We kept trying to use it hoping the error would clear. Now, it will not eject CDs. The problem started when my son tried to play an older Modest Mouse CD he purchased from Music Trader.

We found out that you cannot replace a Bose stereo with another in-dash player without replacing all the speakers. What is the most cost effective solution? The unit could be CN425/PN2121D, CN515/PN2121K, CN555/PN2121D, CN575/PN2121D.

The CD player may not be ejecting the CD due to not being able to see that a CD is loaded? The controller has to have a CD full load signal before an eject command can be sent to the load motor. The problem could be electrical or mechanical in nature, however without looking at the unit I can only guess. By far the most effective solution would be to have the CD player serviced.
