Audio Systems: Factory Stereo Removal, 1994 Toyata Camry, radio cassette player, toyota camry

Question
Hi Tom,
My daughter has a 1994 Toyota Camry LE. She would like to replace the stock radio/cassette player with a Pioneer CD unit.  I bought her a wiring harness to make the connections easier, but once I looked at the stock stereo, I couldn't determine how to remove it. I didn't see any screws to access the center panel where the unit is housed and shining a flashlight under the dash showed no means of accessing it from behind. Any enlightenment would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks,  Mietek

Answer
Mietek,
The trim around the factory stereo will have to be removed to give you access to the screws holding the factory stereo into the dash. On some vehicles the screws for the trim may be hidden inside the AC vents or inside the ash tray area. And then with some trim pieces the trim will snap/pull away from the dash due be being held in place with small clips.
