Question -
I have a 1995 chevy corisca, I had a sony explode installed but it was stollen and now I'm reinstalling the old radio that came with the car. The wireing harness is still there , when they stole it they cut the wires from the stereo leaving the old harness connected to the car. The problem is I reinstalled it, clipped in the big block of wires to it and the antenna but nothing happens, just the clock shows up and keeps time when I hit the power button. Each time I hit the power button it shows the time and it keeps track even when it's not lit up but it won't turn on the radio. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks,

David
Answer -
David,
Most likely when the wires were cut, one of the lines for the stereo that was fused may have a blown out fuse. If the clock works the memory wire is OK, the line to check is the main power supply line. If you look in the fuse box you may see that the RADIO fuse is blown out.

Answer
David,
Use a test lamp and test the red wire that goes into the connector in the rear of the stereo. This red wire should have 12 volts on it when the key is on. If you do not have 12 volts on the red wire you may want to go to  streetdreams.com,  and check out the wire colors to make sure that you have the 12 volt switched wire connected.
