Audio Systems: infinity system, infinity speakers, infinity system

i have a 99 dodge ram with a 6 speaker infinity system, i want to replace the 6x9's in the front doors, can the amp on the infinity speakers come off and get hooked up to the aftermarket speakers?

If the infinity speakers are installed in a plastic acoustical box and you alter the box to install different speakers the box won't sound as good. Once you have the speaker and box assembly you can try installing the amp onto the 6X9s to see how they sound.
