Is there any reset procedures when installing factory radio back in a 1996 cavalier? Because now speedo doesn't work

After you reinstall the stereo you may want to take off a battery terminal for a few minutes to see if that helps. If the speedometer is an electronic unit the problem may be due to a blown fuse.
