Audio Systems: No front speaker volume, jeep cherokee sport, jeep cherokee

Hi Tom. Hope you can help.
My '98 Jeep Cherokee Sport has a factory installed AM/FM CD-cassette radio. To adjust the speaker settings it has a tiny 'Joystick' on the front to adjust left/right/back/front. Well I have no volume coming out of either of the front speakers. The two rear speakers work fine. There is no fade switch or any other switch that would contol the speakers. Just the little joystick. It just stopped working one day. Before that it worked great.
Any help, references on-line or whatever would be greatly appreciated.

If your sound system is a premium system the problem may be due to the external front channel amp going faulty.If your stereo is a non premium/stock unit the amp for the front channel inside the stereo itself may have failed.
