Audio Systems: Caddy radio, rear speakers, premium system

Question
Just replaced the original Bose sound system in a "91 Biarritz using an after market harness.

Ended up with a 4-wire harness hanging in the breeze. Gray/purp-orange/brn/blk.

Everything seems to work but the rear speakers which didn't work before the installation.

Got any idea what they are for?

The Bose sound system was most likely a premium system that used an external amp for the speakers. The plug that is hanging may be for the rear speaker amp/s. I can give you a better idea if you give me the complete model number of the original stereo.
