Audio Systems: Kenwood deck half power up, internal fuse, fuse box

Question
Tom,
I put a kenwood CD/Cassette MP4030 deck in my sisters honda (00 accord) about a year back. Then a few days ago, the deck would not power on. I assumed it was just the fuse, and removed and replaced the fuse. Now when the car is powered on, the deck makes some noises (i think some adjustments or normal power up operations) and the LCD lights up though i get no text and no functionality.

Could it be some kind of an internal fuse? I checked the fuse in the car as well but there is nothing in the fuse box for radio. Seems like power is getting through but the deck is dead.

Thanks

Answer
Sher,
It sounds like some kind of an electrical fault exist with the stereo. If this stereo has a flip down face plate the problem could be due to a defective ribbon cable that connects the front panel to the main board.
