Audio Systems: After market stereo install, auto salvage yards, ford factory

Question
Hello Tom,
I bought a Ford Expedition with a after market CD player. It has a Kenwood CD-Receiver (KDC) with KAC-606 Amp. I was somewhat dissapointed to find out that I did not have a CD Changer, well I do, but I believe it is the Ford Factory changer. It appears to not be hooked up to the CD-receiver. Is there a way to have this hooked up or will I need to go out and buy a cd changer that will work with my Kenwood. I also was interrested in the panels working in the back like the seek etc for the passengers. It appears that does not work either. Is there a way to get any of this to work with an after factory CD player? Thanks, Tammy

Answer
Tammy,
If your kenwood CD receiver is a CD controller unit you may be able to purchase an after market adapter to interface the Kenwood with the factroy CD changer. You could always check out your local auto salvage yards to see if they have a factory stereo for your vehicle. This way everything should work as normal.
