Audio Systems: no sound on radio/cd player, stereo head unit, chevy astro

Question
I disconnected my old radio and installed a used delco AM/FM/cassette with a aux CD player in 1998 chevy astro.  Everything was working fine. AM/FM/Cassette good sound. When I connected the aux CD and put in a CD to play it never worked.  I could hear it turning and see it on the screen but no sound.  After this I disconnected the CD and found out the sound was not working for anything.  Thinking it might be a fuse, I put my old radio back in and it work fine.

Any thoughts why I have no sound? is there a fuse inside the radio?

Answer
Charlie,
There is no fuse/s inside the stereo. When plugging in or unplugging any cable/wires for the CD changer you should disconnect the vehicle battery. After you connect all the cables/wires for the CD changer and reconnect the battery the system may reset and work correctly. If not the CD changer and/or stereo head unit will need to be checked out/repaired.
