Audio Systems: Town & Country Infinity CD Player, casset player, load sensors

Question
I have a 1997 Chrysler Town & Country with the factory Infinity Radio/Cd/Casset player.  The radio works fine; however the CD drive stopped taking CDs.  Rather than taking the CD when inserted into the slot about 1/3 of the way it now will not take the CD.  It can be forced in but will not entergize the player.  Afraid to get too rough. When turning on the ingition it sounds like the CD player is trying to eject or accept a CD. Something is running for a short while.  There definitely is not a CD in the unit.

Is there a way to repair this myself?  I am comfortable tearing into electronic units.  I have already taken the top off the unit but cannot see any broken pieces.  Have not attempted to do anything else.

Do you know of a repair shop that can fix this unit?  I live in the Houston Texas areas.

Do I have any choices other than buying an aftermarket system?

Answer
Jerry,
Most likely one of the load sensors is shorted out, to test this out, try the following. With the ignition off, insert a CD about 1/3 to 1/2 of the way into the player and then turn on the key. The CD should eject all the way out. If the CD does come out then the load in sensor is defective and will need to be replaced, if not then possibly the mechanics that load the CD in and out of the player is out of adjustment or something is broken.
