Audio Systems: Sony Receiver keeps pausing, sony receiver, sony str

Question
Everytime I use my receiver,Sony STR-AV320, it will quit playing and flash a message with a P and will have no sound,like it is paused. I have to keep turning it off and on until it plays. Any ideas what is wrong?  Do you know where I can get an owners manual for it?  Sony's site does not have one.

Well, Google didn't come up with much either. The STR-AV320 is a pretty old model, and I'm afraid resources are scarce. Not a manual to be found among my usual sources. I can't tell from what you tell me what the problem is. Usually I would suggest taking it into a repair shop for a pro diagnostic. However, it looks like this model sells for all of $10 on the net, which indicates to me that it's not worth fixing; i.e., the cost of the repair is greater than the value of the unit.

If you really like the STR-AV320, then by all means take it in for a look see. But I suggest that you might want to look into replacing it. Sony makes some great AV receivers for under $200, and they handle everything the modern listener and movie watcher can throw at it.
