Audio Systems: Volvo 850 Radio AM reception, antenae, volvo 850

My 1996 850 Wagon radio does not get good reception in AM. My other vehicles pick up AM fine, so it is not the location. FM reception is also fine.  Is there a separate antenae for AM?  Any suggestions?

Many factors can effect the AM reception. If your vehicle has a in window/glass antenna, this alone can lower the reception for AM stations. The engine computer can gererate all kinds of electrical noise that the AM radio radio pick up and wash out the AM reception. You may want to try installing a signal booster to see if it will help with the AM reception.
