Question - Tom, I do have continuity when the button is depressed.  
Any ideas on how to repair am/fm button? I cannot change from am to fm. The button seems to control everything but its intended function, such as station presets,scanning and cycles the cd player.Thank you, Steve
1995 Chrysler Concorde with Infinity AM/FM CD Player with 5 band equalizer. Unit has no prior repair history.

Your first step is to open the unit and see if the key/button is making contact when you press the button. With front panel disassembled, use an ohm meter and see if the switch closes when you press it.

You will need a schematic of the stereo to trace out the control line form the button to the main processor. The stereo may have a defective connection on the front panel to the control processor on it. Please give the complete model number again so I can look to see if I have the service manual.
