Audio Systems: Jensen xcd 9020 Not Powering Up, ball point pen, power thoughts

Question
I have a Jensen XCD 9020 that I just got from a friend -- was still in the box.  I put it in the car and it will not work.  I wired it direct to the battery and that still was a no go.  Check the fuses and put a tester on them -- yellow and red both had power.

If you had both power leads to 12 volts and a good ground and the stereo still did not power up, you may want to look for a small reset button. Pressing the button with a ball point pen tip will reset the system. After pressing the reset button and still no function you might want to have the stereo checked out at a repair center. One last thought, use a test lamp to verify that both 12 feeds are getting to the connector plugged into the rear of the stereo.
