Audio Systems: car CD player does not work, car cd player, car repair shop

Question
hi Tom,

I have a pioneer DEH1400 cd player on my Honda Accord 93. I went to a car repair shop to replace my exhaust pipes. After I came back, I found that the radio won't turn on. They said that they disconnected the battery and I need a code to turn the radio on. I called pioneer and was told this type of radio does not need any code. So I went back and they checked all the fuses. They said the fuses are fine and it is not their problem that the radio does not work.

I recently found that there is no power for the car clock and the radio when I turn the key to A.C.C. in the ignition but does not start the car. When I start the car, there is power but the radio kept flashing (does not work) when I tried to turn it on. Do you know what the problem is? Is it their fault?

Thank you

David

Answer
David,
The clock problem is another problem with your vehicle. The problem with your stereo is that you need to press the reset button located somewhere on or behind the faceplate. If the faceplate is a drop down or a removeable faceplate, look for a very small button. on some units you will need a tip of a pen to press the button. Most of these stereos will not work correctly if you unhook the battery and then reconnect it until you reset the processor. If you do not see a reset button you may want to look at the clock problem, it may be related to the radio problem.
