Audio Systems: Kia Spectra stereo wiring, sony cd player, kia spectra

Question
Hopefully you can shed some light on a predicament I have gotten myself into. I "attempted" to install a Sony CD player into our 2002 Spectra without using a wiring harness. I have installed a few in the past so I went ahead and snipped off the Kia harness and commenced with matching up wires. I soon realized that since I cut the harness I no longer was hearing the bell dinging inside the car. (I noticed when I turned the key to acc. to check the connections) Then noticed I didn't have a dome light or dash light either. No constant 12 volt to the radio or factory clock either. The only way I get power to the radio, clock, get the lights inside to come on and get the bell dinging again are to connect the factory green, pink and blue/white together then connect these to the power on the radio harness. I double checked all fuses to find them ok. I then ordered and install a replacement factory harness and put the factory radio back in hoping that would put me back to where I began. No luck. Can you help this poor schmuck out?!!!!

Answer
Scott,
I will look over my service info for your vehicle and give you some idea of what the problem may be. If you snipped more than one wire at a time in the harness when you cut it, you may have blown a fuse somewhere or perhaps damaged the lamp dimmer module.
