Audio Systems: Panasonic 1264 radio, model number, endeavor

Question
I have a 12 year old car with a panasonic
1264 stereo.  My problem is about a year ago
the light went out so at night I can't see
what channel i am on.  I would like to take
the stereo out and replace the bulb.  Is this
simple to do?  Where is the bulb located if
I can get it out.  Please keep in my I am
a woman and this will be my first attempt at
such endeavor.  But I am willing to try.

Answer
Brenda,

no problem ..ok if the unit is as old as the car it might possibly have a bulb but very unlikly , most all use LED and LCD for the displays .. most common cure is to purchase a new faceplate , which in most cases isnt worth the unit and a new replacement fits in the picture for only a few dollars more... now my 2 best suggestions would be call panasonic have model number ready and ask them about fixing the light problem they can tell you a place where you can buy the parts for the repair and you can move from there .. if the parts *if it can be fixed* are more than what you feel the unit is worth i would suggest just buying a new unit that fits your needs and budget and replace ... its very easy to do a replacement .. but if you need anything else let me know
