Audio Systems: Radio Install Problems, chrysler grand voyager, fuse one

Question
I am installing a upgraded radio in a 1996 chrysler grand voyager. What is the ignition lead color? the battery lead color? What does the pink wire and the green/red wire do? While trying to install this radio the gauges (tach, fuel, etc) have gone out and do not work when the car is on. Also the power locks and lights only work when the car is on and not when it is off. Thanks

Answer
Derek,

ok i think you have made one of the biggest mistakes of a self install which is cut the factory plug off and try to wire the unit in straight... now what should have happend was you stop by radio shack and purchase a wire harness adapter *8-12 dollars* this matches color for color to your new units harness then simply plugs into the factory harness plug so you have no guess work and everything is neat and professional .. now no need to fear the way you started out is not wrong its just a method that isnt used anymore or very rarely in custom installs .. now look at www.streetdreams.com/wires they should have a color code for your wiring to help you get everything wired up properly.. now about your accessories not working most likly its a simple fuse problem so go to your fuse block .. pull each and every fuse one at a time and check for blows replace as needed .. check ALL fuses not just the ones related to your problems... i hope this helps you out if you need anything else feel free to let me know

thanks
