Audio Systems: AC Delco Radio SCV, ac delco radio, gmc suburban

Question
I have a 96 GMC Suburban SLE with a radio Cassette and seperate CD player.  It seems that the Speed Compensated Volume is messed up.  The radio volume goes up and down when the vehicle is sitting still or moving down the road. The volume knob does not work most of the time.  I work with 3 GA Tech electrical engineers who say they can fix it if they knew where to start.  Any Ideas?

Answer
Scott,
On some radios the auto volume adjust signal comes from the speed pulse output signal from the speedometer. This speed pulse is tied into the electronic volume control circuit inside the radio. I can give you a better Idea of where to look for problems, however I will need the complete model number off the radio.
