Audio Systems: JBL Premium sound system, premium sound system, eq settings

Question
I have a Toyota with a JBL Premium system.With the car running the base is too heavy.With the car not running and acc on it sounds better.I'm looking for a way to shut the Power Amp off.If I pull the remote wire at the amp will this keep it from turning on? If it does will it cause any damage in the long run?

 before you disconnect your amp try adjusting your bass and treble controls along with your EQ settings to get the sound where you want it .. but if you have the color code for the amps wiring just unplug the harness instead of clipping the wire if you can .. some are wired in straight without plugs so its whatever you need .. but some amplified systems wont work with the amp turned off so give it a test run first.. but if all goes well there should be no harm to any of the components .. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know
