My 10-disc CD changer, mounted in the trunk, is displaying E-01, even when I try to turn it off. It is a Prestige player, installed by the Pontiac dealer

The error code 01 is a mechanical fault code. something is jammed in the CD changer unit, possibly two CD's may have been loaded at the same time. If the CD magazine will not eject, do not pry or pull on it to remove it or you will do more damage to the changer. have someone who is experienced in changer repair to take a look at the changer for you.
