Audio Systems: security lock - car radio, message on the radio, car radio

i had to remove the battery from my car and the radio went into lock. i have tried to unlock it but it refuses to. i keep getting a - loop - message on the radio. i have not changed the security number, and everything is the same from before removing the battery. i have followed the instructions in the owners manual, but nothing works. help!! thanks  - jerry

It's possible that this isn't the original stereo or you may be entering the wrong code. On many of these radios you need to enter an antitheft code correctly with only three attempts to do so or the radio will lock up and will have to be reprogrammed by a dealer. You may want to take your vehicle to the local dealer to see if they have any tricks to entering the security code.
