Audio Systems: 1985-86 Toyota MR2, car sound systems, toyota mr2

This is my first install. The car came with a broken stereo so I am looking at putting in a new receiver and possibly two subwoofers. Can you point me toward any reading I need to do and throw in any thing else that I should know. Thanks

Installing an after market stereo will be easy if you use an adapter wire harness that you connect to the existing factory stereo plug in the dash that was/is plugged into the factory stereo. after you purchase a stereo of your choice along with the plastic dash cut out adapter for your vehicle. now that you have these items all you have to do now is to follow the wiring instructions to be sure that you connect the proper wires together, such as-left speakers-right speakers-power and grounds. most after market stereos will come with install instructions. As for the power amplifier to power up the subs, You can pick out just about any amp that you like. The new stereo should have two low level sub woofer outputs. Installing the amp should be easy, it also comes with install instructions. There are many books on the market about how to install car sound systems. If you purchase your new stereo and amplifier from such places as BestBuy, circuitCity or even CrutchField they will give you additional install help if needed.
