Audio Systems: Help! My stereo ate my CD., car cd players, chevy malibu

I have a factory installed AM/FM/CD player in my '02 Chevy Malibu. I put a CD in the player and the next day I couldn't get it out. What should I do now? I can here the motor trying to kick it out with a grinding sound. Thanks.

Hello Paul,
Many times I see this problem and most of the time it is due to the CD having oily finger prints on the top side or on some CD's the paper label can peel off and jam up the CD player. With the motor running at least the load circuits are working, however the problem sounds like a mechanical problem. I find on some of these in car CD players, that a small spring will come off that is used to apply pressure to the rollers that load and unload the CD into/out of the CD deck.
