Audio Systems: Overhead Power Lines Make My Radio Fuzzy, high voltage power, high voltage power lines

Question
On my way home I pass underneath some high voltage power lines. Whenever I do this, I lose any medium wave programmes (replaced with fuzz); or FM stations get a bit of static.

Even if I turn the radio off before I get there, when I turn it on again I get the same result.

Answer
Hello David,
This is something that you are going to have to get used to, These high voltage power lines leak alot of power into the air that your radio is picking up as static. If you walk near HV power lines in damp weather you can hear the leakage as a hissing noise.
