Audio Systems: amplifier wireing, e mail address, voltage spikes

Question
i wired my amps in series to switches on the remote wire. should i be using a diod or capacitor of some sort to stop voltage spikes when i use the switches. any info would help thanks,  mike

p.s. if this e-mail address does not work use Cats7@cox.com

Answer
Mike,

i would put inline fuses between the switch and the amp just as a precaution i have used switches to turn on amps fairly often and never had any need for any filters ect.... i would use a capacitor maybe .5 farad for each amp depending on your wattage to improve sound quality and prevent damaging your charging system and battery.. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know

thanks
