Audio Systems: Pioneer DEH-6400, pioneer deh, source button

I recently bought a used DEH-6400.  I installed the deck and it worked.  When I put a CD in to play the cd, the deck would not change from tuner to cd mode.  I have tried several different cds, tried to manually switch with the source button on the deck and remote and still it will not switch to cd.  The deck will accept cds, but will not switch over.

Most likely the switch that tells the control processor that a disc is loaded isn't working. Give me a couple of days to look over the service manual and I will let you know several causes that may be causing your problem.
