Audio Systems: Dodge Grand Caravan Radio Removal, dodge grand caravan, 2003 dodge grand caravan

Question
Hi.  I have a 2003 Dodge Grand Caravan with the stock AM/FM/Cassette radio system.  My 1.5 year old daughter decided the cassette slot looked alot like a piggy bank and proceeded to insert a few coins.  There was a tape inside the deck, so as you can imagine, the coins lodged inside the deck and now the tape cannot be removed.  To solve this I believe I'll have to remove the cassette player.  Problem is, I don't know how to remove it w/o breaking something. I'm sure there must be a simple means to remove it.  Do you know of a source for info on how to do this?  Thanks,
Jorge

Answer
Hello Jorge,
On many new Caravans the trim around the radio will pull away from the dash to give you access to the screws that hold the radio into the dash. Take a good look around the trim piece just incase they put some screws in the trim to hold it on. After you remove the radio screws the connectors on the rear of the radio will simply unplug and then remove the ground wire. If you cannot figure out how to remove the trim you should stop by any large auto parts supplier to purchase a repair book for your vehicle.
