Audio Systems: Radio problem, chevy blazer, radio problem

Question
I am having problems with my 84 Chevy Blazer. It had the original radio which has not worked since i bought it 6 years ago. I finally got around to buying a cd player for it and now it has me stumped. I removed the old radio, tried to install the "easy" wiring harness i bought to "simplify" the installation. one problem, it does not match up. The harness is huge and all i have are two small things to plug into it. One fits which is the yellow, gray, and black wires. The other which does not fit are the  speakers i assume. There is an odd wire which is green with a white stripe that says clock lead and i have no idea where it goes. I spliced the wires (except the yellow black and gray wires)myself and when i try to power it up i get nothing. I don't know if i'm getting power to the unit. Or if i have it wired wrong. Please help me. Thank you.

Answer
Ryan,

ok .. you have the wrong harness go to radio shack explain what the problem is and they should hook you up with the right part or order you the right harness .. for some extra info get the month and year off the door sticker on the drivers side so you can be sure to match up with the right harness .. some with months after may are considered a year newer even though they were sold as a year older .. and also sometimes differnt stereos , models ect.. affect how harness's are from year to year .. the good thing is you didnt cut the factory plug off so you are still safe for a good easy install .. if you need anything else let me know

thanks
