Audio Systems: No Bass, haynes repair manual, watt amp

Question
I have a 97 Mustang with a factory stereo and speakers. My bass is not working, I have sounds coming out of the tweeters in the front but not from the bass in the rear or side door panels. I don't think the speakers are blown because I never play the stereo loudly.  What do you think may be the cause?

Answer
David,

well if you have a factory mach 460 sound system the other speakers may be amp'd from a factory amp .. which could be bad and causing the speakers not to work .. not you cna take it to a ford dealership and pay out the butt for them to fix it or you can redo your system .. if you have the money of course .. the first step is buying a haynes repair manual *10-15* dollars .. remove your factory stereo unit and replace with an aftermarket unit .. remove your factory amp .. run all new wires from your speakers to your head unit just make sure they work or you can leave them like this .. if they all dont work replace the ones that dont .. if they do you can opt. for a amplifier according to the RMS specs of the speakers i would say a 300-400 watt amp would work great and wire it in .. hope this helps you out if you need anything else let me know

thanks
