Audi Repair: Turn Signals, turn signal switch, electrical circuits work

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2000 A4.  My turn signals do not work, I push the lever down and get no response (no arrow.)  I have changed the fuse and that did nothing.  When I use my 4-way flashers the little arrows on the dash light up, and all my outside lights work.  Any Advice??

ANSWER: When you use the hazard switch, do the lights flash on and off?  If not I would suspect the flasher unit.  Do all the other electrical circuits work?  Headlights etc.?   If not then it could the load reduction relay.  Let me know,  Jan

QUESTION: All lights do flash on and off.  The hazards lights work normally, but just the turn signal will not work.  All other circuits appear to work.

Answer
Sounds like your turn signal switch has given up.  Sometimes this is the connection between the two halves, sometimes it is the switch itself.  You have to remove the steering wheel to get to the switchgear; I would check the connections between the two halves first, that is how I fixed mine.  You can use pliers to imporve the connection between the left and right halves of the switch.  Let me know how you get on,  Jan
