Audi Repair: emissions test, emissions test, wheel speed

I took my 2000 Audi A4Quattro to the mechanics to have the emissions done so I can get new tags and plates.  Their computer could not read my car so they couldn't perform the service.  There was an abort code:  86.  I must say also that the ABS light stays on and the brake light blinks.  I am aware that the controller needs to be replaced but I was told that that shouldn't effect the emissions test. Please help!!

More and more states dictate that the computer OBD port is used for the emissions test.  If this does not work, then the car will not pass.  Your ABS light could be a relay or a wheel speed sensor.  I would get the computer checked at autozone for free and see if they can connect to it OK.  good luck,  Jan
