Audi Repair: Passat wiper motor, dash panel, audi forum

Hi, My 99 passat wiper stopped working. Dealer told me I need to replace wiper motor and motor relay. He asked for $500. Is it possible for me to replace it? Any suggestions? I couldn't google out replacing instruction... thanks

This is an Audi forum, but the passat is close.  Anyway, I would imagine this to be similar to the replacement in my S4, remove all the plastic in front of the windshield and undo the wiper mechanism.  The relay is possibly attached to the motor, or under the dash. The chances of the relay as well as the motor going bad at the same time seems far fetched.  I would check and see if the relay fixes it first; the relays on Audi's are underneath the dash, remove the lower dash panel to get to them.  Good luck,  Jan
