Audi Repair: Car keeps stalling, vacuum leaks, response asap

Question
Hey Jan, I had a leak problem in my car, and today decided to fix it (I have an audi a4 2.8 quattro 1999) the drainage problem was the two drains under the battery tray, but with that fixed, the car when started sounded horrible, it was idling weird as the rpms kept going from 500 to 750 rpms, then it wasnt starting, after finally getting it started--at least 10 tries, i made it down my block until it stalled, and it stalled at least 5 times around the block, it seems like the rpms dip from me not accelerating and then it dies. I am about a hundred miles overdue for an oil change, it stalled once a week before, but before this i had never had a problem with it stalling. I have been told it could be bad gas, and I was in Jersey and filled up at Lukoil three times in the past weeks which have had problems with their gas lately and over 20 cars stalling after filling up there, but that was over a week ago. I think it could be a problem with a idling thing as i have read that in other posts to u...i appreciate your time and look forward to your response ASAP on monday im bringing it to the audi service dept for my oil change and to have it looked at...thanks...james

Answer
Being a hundred miles over for an oil change is not going to give those kind of problems.  When you cleaned the drains out is there a chance you moved or displaced an electrical plug to the MAF or the idle control valve?  I would take the plugs off those and put some vaseline on them, make sure the contacts are good and solid.  Check for vacuum leaks on the inlet side too.  Let me know what you find,  Jan
