Audi Repair: General A6 Problems!, foot wells, distinct problems

Question
Hello Jan,

I have a 2002 A6 Avant 130bhp 1.9TDI Sport.  I have two distinct problems. The first is that passenger airbag warning light will not go out even though I have tried to switch it off from the glove compartment key switch.

The second is that I have noticed water in both the front and rear passenger foot wells.  This has only occured recently and appears to coincde with periods of rain.  I am told that the air intake is below the battery and that this tends to clog leading to the water finding it's way in to the cabin. This has only ocured in the past few months and I have owned the car for 2 years.

Any help that you can offer is appreciated and thank you in advance,

Nilesh

Answer
The airbag light will need a service reset to find out if there is a problem, and also to re-set the fault.  With reference to the water, check under the hood to see if there is debris or other blockages in the firewall area.  Also check around the windshield to see if there is water getting past the windshield seal.  Let me know what you find,  jan
