Audi Repair: no start issues, car accessory shop, crankshaft position sensor

Question
We have a a 1998 Audi s4 5v driving down the street shifted third to fourth and lost all electrical power battery was shot replaced with a brand new one motor will turn over start for 5-6 revolutions but not run are there any saftey codes that will prevent the computer to allowthe motor to run spark fuel and air mxture are all checked out and fine full battery auxillary power inside the car plugs are not fouled and filter is good

Answer
When the battery went, maybe there was a voltage spike that took out some sensors.  Or if you are really unlucky, the ECU.  Can you check if the injectors are being activated?  If you get a no-start, check the crankshaft position sensor, it may be easiest to go to a car accessory shop and get the computer codes read out.  Let me know what you find,  Jan
