Audi Repair: 2002 Audi 1.8T Quattro, fan blade, cooling fan

My smaller cooling fan will short cycle (2 seconds on/2 seconds off) continously when warm. While troubleshooting I noticed that the larger fan blade has came off the motor. Is this repairable without replacement? If so will it help w/the short cycling of the other fan?

Obviously the cooling fan needs to be attached to do any good.  I'm not sure if the short cycling is caused by the larger fan not being attached, possibly the relay is faulty.  I would repair the large fan first, it may be difficult to repair unless you can re-attach it to the motor, and if I remember correctly there is not much room to work in also.  Let me know,  Jan
