Audi Repair: Fuse box, cigarette lighter socket, center electrode

Question
Since audi and VW are produce by the same company, maybe you would know this. I have a Vw passat 99 sedan, the cigarette lighter is not working. Is it b/c the fuse is burnt? If it is, which fuse number do i have to replace to fix this problem so the cigarette lighter will work again?

Answer
Don't know the actual fuse number, but the cigarette lighter is normally a 20 or 30A fuse, you can check all the fuses, or look at the fuse box lid where the details of all the fuses are typically put in a chart. The center electrode in the cigarette lighter socket also sometimes gets rusty, so check that too.  Cheers,  Jan
