Audi Repair: 1998 A4 1.8T Weird Cold Idle Problem, vacuum leaks, t touch

Question
Greg, I hope you have some insight for me.  This is a quattro with tip and 108k.  When I park the car overnight and start it in the morning (in the summertime, too) and don't touch the accelerator (DBC) it will warm up fine and run all day just fine.  However, if I try to drive off after first start, it will misfire on cylinders 3 and 4 (sometimes cylinder 2 and 1, too).  Codes are P0300, 0303, 0304.  Any ideas?  I've had it looked at it, but it couldn't be duplicated (they never allowed it to sit overnight, of course).  No vacuum leaks.  Compression is even and around 180psi.  Fuel pressure is around 55psi (60psi with regulator hose removed).  New plugs and coils, too.  POS tested out good (diode check with Fluke).  ???

Answer
hello
I will watch the temp. sensor on every start up, or just replace it. I have seen temp sensors going bad and ECM thinks it's -40 deg. Once car warms up it starts working fine. This most of the time sets the fault, but not always.  This is the only thing I can think about , hope it will help.
good luck         Greg
