Audi Repair: Audi Cabriolet Convertible Top, audi cabriolet, vw audi

Question
The top on my 94 Audi Cabriolet started to move very slowly when going up and down and I noticed small leaks under the rear of the car( I assume Hydralic fluid)Now it won't go down I did it manually and when  covering the soft top with the hard cover if I engage thetop button it will finish closing it and latching it so i think the motor still works. I think it must be a leak on a seal but my local dealer said it can't be repaired that I have to change the whole motor assembly at a cost of about $2800.00 for the parts plus labor. It sounds insane to me. Can you help me with how or where to tahe it to get it fixed? I will appreciate any help. Thanks a lot, Jose

Answer
HI
sorry for waiting , I was checking the prices.
I don't know what is leaking? but the pump itself is about $1699. I checked with parts department and you can buy lines, cylinders or pump. If only pump is bad on your car , $1000 for labor is a lot!. There is no other way to get new pump, try to some VW, Audi private shop.
good luck                    pltech
